In a serious departure from the design philosophy of the studio, this building is colonial in nature. The generally understated formal ambitions of the buildings designed by AA have been abandoned for the
sensibilities of the client.
There is a ‘purpose made’ attitude towards the façade which is an aesthetic exercise towards replicating the work of British colonial architects. The layout on the other hand gears down and is a simple horseshoe around a rear court. There is a deep wrap around veranda with rooms placed in a linear fashion with all facing the court.
