Project Detail

Sood House

Taking the courtyard idiom further this house exposes living areas from two separate units to the same courtyard with each maintaining their privacy. The brief was to have a house which had the feel of being in a forest. Courtyard were an obvious choice from then on. Furthermore, exposed brick was the elevation material of choice which was to be covered in ivy over time. The internal spaces all open onto large green external open spaces. Even the vertical circulation element, the staircase, was taken outside the building envelope to further the impression of a building in a forest.
