The project initially included the preliminary design of 8 elevated stations for the Jaipur Metro. These were to be taken to the tendering stage. The design of three of the stations was pioneering in that they were double elevated balanced cantilever stations. This had never before been attempted in the country.
Further, Civil Lines was a tower type station with a flyover below the platform. In Metro Railway Station, the platform was crossing above a flyover and the station had to be double elevated as well as in two parts. Ram Nagar Station was a simple double elevated balanced cantilever station in which the additional floor was planned for commercial development.
In the second stage of this project, we carried out the detailed design of the three special stations mentioned above as well as the detailed design of the sole underground station on the corridor ie. Chandpole. Chandpole station was also atypical from other island platform UG stations of DMRC in that the rail level was very high and close to the surface.
